Edward Danescu

Edward, originally from Romania but born and raised in Milan- Italy, completed a bachelor’s in Computer Science at King's College London, where he graduated in 2020 with a First Class Honours.

He has been in the energy industry for 2 years now, starting off with a graduate scheme at RWE Supply & Trading in London. There, he worked as a front office software developer, embedded with multiple trading desks. This is where he got an initial exposure to financial markets and energy trading, which, since then, has turned into a keen interest for a more commercial career path.

 His current role with the Quant team at Energetech represents the ideal intersection between a commercial position, and one which still involves a strong understanding of algorithms and data. The research and analysis components of the job are what he enjoys the most, as they keep things lively, especially in this ever-changing industry.

 On a personal level, Ed likes the idea of always being on the move and experiencing new places and cultures, so he has always been on the lookout for study and work opportunities abroad. Outside of work, he also enjoys cooking, and more often than not, he’ll be up for a game of pool and a pint or three!
